How likely Virginia, DC are to see a doctor shortage
BY PATCH HealthLeaders Media | APRIL 29, 2019 (米国 バージニア州、ワシントンDC)

America has a doctor problem, although the extent of the dilemma varies by state. The looming shortage of physicians could be exacerbated by an aging population and an influx of doctor visits since more Americans have access to affordable health care. Some studies have suggested that by 2025, the United States will be short up to 90,000 physicians.

Physician Shortage Continues to Grow, Reaching Up to 122K by 2032
By Jacqueline LaPointe RevCycleIntelligence.com 2019 Apr 29 (米国)

Aging patients and doctors will continue to put pressure on the healthcare industry, resulting in a physician shortage of between 46,900 and 121,900 doctors by 2032, the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) reports.

The fifth annual study, prepared by the Life Science division of IHS Markit for AAMC, reveals that the growing and aging population continues to be a major driver of the updated physician shortage, which is similar to the previous study’s projected shortage range for 2030 of between 42,600 and 121,300 doctors.

How Likely Maryland Is To See A Doctor Shortage
By Deb Belt, Patch National Staff | Apr 28, 2019 5:43 pm ET Patch.com (米国 メリーランド州)

MARYLAND — America has a doctor problem, although the extent of the dilemma varies from state to state. More accurately, there is a looming shortage that could be exacerbated by an aging population and an influx of doctor visits because more Americans have access to affordable health care. Some studies have suggested that by 2025, the United States will be short up to 90,000 physicians.

Sluggish birth rates combined with lengthier life-spans mean the number of people older than 65 is outpacing the rest of the country. According to a report by The Senior List, a site that offers advice to older adults, some states are much more likely than others to see a doctor shortage.

Here are the 10 states most likely to see a shortfall:

1. Wyoming
2. Montana
3. Mississippi
4. Oklahoma
5. Arkansas
6. Nevada
7. Florida
8. Idaho
9. New Mexico
10. Indiana

Doctor shortage forces Lower Sackville walk-in clinic to shut down
Anjuli Patil · CBC News · Posted: Apr 28, 2019 6:16 PM AT (カナダノバスコティア州)

A medical clinic in Lower Sackville, N.S., will close its doors this week and a shortage of doctors is to blame.
The Community Care Walk-in Clinic, located in the Lawtons Drugs store on Cobequid Road, will shut down on Tuesday.
A note posted on the door of the clinic reads: "Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to recruit new physicians to work at this clinic, we have been unsuccessful, leaving an untenable work schedule on those of us remaining at the clinic."

Doctor shortage in Lac-Brome leaves aging patients scrambling to find care
Spencer Van Dyk · CBC News · Posted: Apr 27, 2019 6:00 AM ET (カナダ ケベック州)

A doctor shortage in the Eastern Townships community of Lac-Brome has left more than 3,000 patients without a family physician, including McCubbin, whose doctor of more than 40 years recently retired.
With two of Lac-Brome's family doctors retiring on the heels of a third who left last year but hasn't yet been replaced, the number of physicians serving the community has been cut in half — from six to three — in the past 18 months.
