Med school on the cheap: Why becoming a doctor in Texas is a bargain
STAT‎ - October 30, 2017 (米国、テキサス州)

In Texas, a decades-old law 1 caps tuition at public medical colleges in a bid to bridge a doctor shortage by a) getting students like Comfort to come back, or, b) getting students like her partner, Justin Cardenas, to stay in Texas to get their degree. Right now, tuition is about $6,550 per year for in-state students.
This puts Texas medical schools at the top of rankings of cheap (as well as reputable) places to get a medical degree, and several students who spoke with STAT said it was an important, if not the deciding, factor for them.

WA FACES a shortage of 1450 doctors within the next eight years, including critical shortfalls in 18 specialist areas such as obstetrics and radiation oncology, according to estimates.

Townsville medical centre can't find another GP
Townsville Bulletin‎ - October 29, 2017 11:00pm(オーストラリア)

TOWNSVILLE'S GP shortage is hitting practices hard with one centre left without a doctor despite advertising since the beginning of the year.
Nurture Family Allied Health and Early Parenting Centre will be without a doctor for the next two weeks while one of their GPs is on annual leave, with the other on medical leave.
Director Cheryl Laing said they had been trying all year to find a third doctor for the practice.
For Heather Gijanto, going to the doctor means taking a day off work and driving at least 60 miles round trip from her home in McNeal, Ariz., to the town of Bisbee. And that is assuming there is a primary care doctor available in Bisbee to get her in.
